One of the main villages of Crete, is Zaros; a picturesque village of Riza, in the south slopes of mountain Psiloritis.
Due to the springs of crystal-clear water, the area has been inhabited since ancient times. Several watermills were operating a few years ago. The remains of those still exist in the area.
